The Santro Xing is the country's largest selling car in its segment. It is powered by a 1086 cc Epsilon engine delivering 63 Ps of power at 5500 rpm. The car also provides a decent mileage of 12-14 kmpl in city conditions with the AC turned on. The car that was introduced in India to compete with Maruti Zen and Wagon R has many attractive features like remote controlled central lock, front electric window, and option for auto transmission, reliability, long life and power efficiency. For better manoeuvrability on Indian roads, this car features the world renowned McPherson Strut Suspension.

Also included is a stabilizer bar in the front section, along with a torsion beam axle with offset coil sprints and hydraulic dampers in the real section of the vehicle. This model also features wider tyres for better road grip. The interiors are aesthetically presented with features like three spoke steering wheel, rear speaker grill, ash tray, room lamp and double folding real seats with integrated head restraints. The dashboard is sunken integrated with two oddment trays.

The speedometer fuel gauge and other instruments are fitted to the oval shaped binnacle. The controls are fixed to the plain black console and the music player is fitted with the air conditioner at the centre. Two cup holders between the two seats in the front and the map packet and a glove compartment in the left are present. In addition to the standard features available in other variants, the Santro Xing GL comes with air conditioning, power steering, optional Anti-Lock Braking System (ABS), folding rear seat, central locking and remote boot/fuel lid.
